attraction marketing curiosity marketing direct sales how to create curiosity how to gain a following network marketing sales tips and tricks Jul 19, 2020

As a network marketer, our mission is to not only get our products in front of as many people as we possibly can, but also build connections along the way.

Yet I'm sure you've experienced the feeling when you post a picture of your product along with a well phrased caption telling all about it along with how they can go about getting it from you today!.... just for it to fall flat and get no interaction.

Maybe we let the cat out of the bag a little too quick and it wasn't enough to make someone STOP in the their tracks to spend money right then! And also only 10% of Facebook users are ready to buy. That's crazy right?

When we give all the goodies away right in the post, your potential customers have the ability right then and there to decide if there's enough value to make a buying decision.

So how do we go about creating a sense of curiosity from our potential leads that get them to message us?

Let's talk about it!

#1 - Eliminate Sales Posts, Replace with Stories

It's important to remember that no one goes onto Facebook to go shopping unless they're using marketplace. They go on to socialize with others.

So why do we think that a sales post is going to be effective? Instead harness the power of a story to highlight something that you're selling. Long form content and an engaging story connects with people.

When you're scrolling Facebook and you see a picture of someone you know doing something and a caption that starts with

"Never in my life have I been able to do what I just did today. I have always dealt with ..... see more"

The "see more" is itself a driver of curiosity. People want to finish the story. Also, stories get people in their "feels". They put themselves through the situation that then can make them feel like they've been there too.

Once they feel like they've been there, they would love to hear your solution!

#2 - Don't name the brand of your products!

Have you ever had a conversation with a family member where the questions "What is <Insert Family Member> doing now these days?

Of course you have! Because we tend to be curious about what our family and friends are doing! See where I'm going this one?

Sometimes, its not a matter of shouting from the rooftops that you're a consultant from XYZ company. Instead, let's get them wondering what in the world you're up to these days.

Remember, we're looking for meaningful interactions with people. That's how you network. If you're just looking for a quick sale, then you'll see short term success, but not the long term.

Also, what if someone tried a product from that company and had one bad experience? They'll scroll on past and not look back. They're done and you haven't even had a chance to overcome that.

Instead, a easy post like "I'm so excited to be a part of this incredible opportunity! I've never felt more jazzed about what I'm doing!"  will make people stop, send you a message and ask "So...what are you doing?"

Bingo. That's what you want!

#3 - Show a Before and After

Whether you're showing off a room, a face, a body, or a project, people love to see a transformation!

They are engaging and make people wonder "How in the world did they do that!?" That is the curiosity you're looking for.

The trick: Don't give away how you did it! Simple captions along with the before and after that simply says, "OMG I love this so much! PM if you want to know how!" drives real results.

Also, its so easy to create a before and after no matter what company you're selling for. In fact, you probably have a ton to choose from already.

Just don't go off on a tangent telling them exactly how it was done or what they need to buy in your post! Make them come to you with the sweet sense of curiosity!

#4 - Show Up On Live Video

The most meaningful way to play to the algorithm as well as attract potential customers to you is going live! Live video is like the secret weapon of growth.

Live video is the fastest way to connect with people which is always your number one goal, get your product attention and collect orders or potential leads! Hide the name of your company and share benefits and what you love of a product once a week and watch your stats skyrocket. It's that easy.

Going live doesn't have to be a scary thing! This should be a tool you should use to your advantage! People want to see you and your authentic self.

So don't think you need to have all the right words and the perfect descriptions. No one is perfect! Just BE YOU! Yes that is enough.

#5 - Ask Engaging Questions

If you already struggle with engagement on your Facebook feed, This is such a simple way to increase engagement and get eyeballs on your posts.

Ask simple questions with a colored background to catch attention. Simple right? What better way to connect than with simple, no pressure questions about common things people already know about or do in their day to day.

Example questions you can post today:

Pool or Beach?

Hot weather or Cold weather?

What's your favorite thing to cook for dinner for the family? Looking to expand my menu.

It can be as simple as questions like these. Always be a human before anything else.

#6 - Educate

One main reason people are on Facebook is because they love to learn. How many times have you been intrigued watching those cooking videos on Facebook where they teach you how to make the perfect steak meal in 15 minutes?

If you look at those videos they all have millions of views. So now that you know millions of people are looking to learn on Facebook, how do you teach them?

You can make a short 5 minute educational video on how to use your products to get the best results. Or you can show people your top 5 favorite summer products and why they are perfect for summer.

Title your video with something that catches attention or solves a problem like "How to lose weight fast using this!" or "The best summer must haves when you have a house full of kids."

Do you see how strategic these titles are? They are formulated to answer a question and solve a problem. Think about who your audience is when making these educational videos.

#7 -Lifestyle

The most important tip is that makes all the other tips in this blog effective is connection. The main reason people use social media is to connect. People don't and use social media ready to purchase. This is why amazon exists.

Once we understand this, our expectations for instant, get rich quick ideas will become more realistic. In order to get anyone to want to purchase from you on social media you have to connect!

Share your life on your social media. Photos of your kids, funny moments and relatable photos others can easily comment on.

People want to connect with you and these posts/videos are the perfect way to increase engagement and also play to the algorithm.  Remember the most important tool to growing any business is being a human first.

You are not your product.

Create curiosity!

I want you to stop thinking about how to sell more, or how to book parties. Instead I want you to start really thinking hard on how you can create curiosity. What make you stop and ask questions?

When you can recreate what drives your curiosity, you'll be able to put those same tactics to work to drive people TO YOU, not FROM YOU!

So go, go be curious!
